☆ Escaped zebra captured after nearly a week on the lam

The zebra was one of four that escaped on April 28 from a trailer near North Bend in Washington state, Regional Animal Services of King County said in a media release. While the other three zebras were captured within a few hours, a mare remained on the loose. The mare “was safely rescued on Friday evening in the Riverbend neighborhood after being on the run for nearly six days,” animal services said. Shug’s owner reportedly had stopped just off Interstate 90 in the North Bend area to fix an issue with the trailer when the animals escaped, animal services said. The zebra’s days-long escape spawned memes and jokes, with local government agencies pitching in with edited images of the zebra around the state.

Those potential returns can come from two places: Danaher stock and shares of Veralto (VLTO), the soon-to-be-standalone company that's in the business of water quality. When we receive Veralto shares on Monday, as all Danaher shareholders will, we intend to keep them, based on their current expected value. A "when-issued" market was established Wednesday for both Danaher and Veralto stock, providing a first look at how investors are valuing the companies on their own. Investors will receive one share in Veralto for every three shares of Danaher they own. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Great Lakes’ frigid fresh water used to keep shipwrecks so well preserved that divers could see dishes in the cupboards. Quagga mussels, native to Russia and Ukraine, were discovered in the Great Lakes in 1989, around the same time as their infamous cousin species, zebra mussels. Scientists believe the creatures arrived via ballast dumps from transoceanic freighters making their way to Great Lakes ports. They consume so many nutrients at such high rates they can render portions of the murky Great Lakes as clear as tropical seas. After 30 years of colonization, quaggas have displaced zebra mussels as the dominant mussel in the Great Lakes.

Stellantis — Shares rose about 1.7% after sales in Europe of brands such as Peugeot and Opel surged more than 6% in August. On Holding — The shoe stock rose finished lower ever after Needham initiated coverage with a buy rating. Lululemon — The athleisure clothing company rose nearly 2% after Needham initiated coverage with a buy rating, saying it expects double-digit top-line growth as accelerating technical innovation drives demand.
